Dulux has named Wild Wonder as its Colour of the Year for 2023.

Every year, the iconic paint brand uses its expertise in the science of colour and emerging design trends to select a shade that perfectly sets the tone for the year ahead. Last year, it chose Bright Skies, a dreamy sky blue that encapsulated the sense of possibility and freedom felt around the world as Covid restrictions eased.

Dulux describes Wild Wonder as 'a soft gold with hints of green inspired by fresh seed pods and harvest grain', a choice inspired by the global conversation around sustainability, as well as the recent embrace of nature-inspired tones in the home for their grounding and soothing properties during what have been a tumultuous few years.

The company says the shade 'offers us a connection with nature and that brings a sense of natural magic into our homes.'

A calming neutral that offers a similar versatility to 2021 Colour of the Year Brave Ground but with an added note of optimism thanks to the uplifting green undertone, Wild Wonder is suitable for any room. Pair with other neutrals to turn a bedroom into a restful retreat, use alongside shades of natural sage or olive for a dreamy green kitchen, or team with cute pastel pinks and blues for a fun, contemporary look in a living room or nursery.

To get you inspired, Dulux has also released four palettes showcasing the versatility of Wild Wonder, with each colour combination designed to create a different mood - Lush, Buzz, Raw and Flow. See all the complementary colours below, and keep reading for more details about each palette.
