Honey and mustard chicken thigh traybake

This zesty chicken bake is perfect for families and even better when the summer BBQ becomes a wash is typical of rainy Britain! Why not give it a go?

Honey mustard chicken thighs

Recipe from Helen Best-Shaw (Fuss Free Flavours), for Heinz



  • Onion 1, peeled and sliced
  • Garlic 3 cloves, peeled and sliced
  • Heinz new york style mustard with honey 2 tbsp, (or any mild mustard and a spoon of honey)
  • Olive oil 2 tbsp
  • Soy sauce 2 tbsp, (or tamari)
  • Salt and pepper
  • Large chicken thighs 4, with skin and bone
  • Lemon 1, quartered


  • Step 1

    Heat the oven to 180°C/ 350°F/ Gas mark.

  • Step 2

    Scatter the onion and garlic into an oven proof dish.

  • Step 3

    Mix the mustard, olive oil and soy sauce, and use it to coat the chicken thighs. Place the chicken pieces on top of the onions. Pour over any remaining mustard mixture.

  • Step 4

    Season well with salt and pepper.

  • Step 5

    Tuck the pieces of lemon between the chicken thighs.

  • Step 6

    Bake for 50 – 60 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the juices have thickened.
