One day in 1984, Emma Bridgewater was walking around London in an attempt find some cups and saucers that would capture the spirit of her mum’s Oxford kitchen. After searching the high street and finding only fine bone china, she knew that she’d have to make her own pottery if she wanted something different – and so, the journey began.
Fast forward to today, and the British ceramics brand is known the world over, famous for its warm and welcoming printed pottery. So, you can just imagine how excited we were to find out that they’ve just launched an extensive new Christmas range for 2020.
Featuring festive tea towels, illustrated mugs and every piece of crockery in between, there’s almost definitely something that’ll match the Christmas décor of your dreams… read on to discover our favourite pieces from the line!
This beautifully traditional serving plate is sure to be the centre of attention on your Christmas Day table – we can just imagine it on a festive red runner, piled high with mince pies or bearing a Christmas pudding!
Adorned with quintessential symbols of the season, red berries and a robin, this is the sort of design that’ll remain truly timeless, so you can reach for it year after year. The matching three pint jug would be the perfect vase for a seasonal arrangement, too!
Winter Deer 1/2 Pint Mug, £19.95
Nothing evokes Christmas more than a snowy scene with reindeer and a starry midnight sky, so we love this festive design from the Winter Animals collection.
The mug itself makes a perfect stocking filler for Emma Bridgewater fans and Christmas enthusiasts alike – team it with a box of loose leaf tea for a truly unique gift.
Christmas Joy Small Star Plate, £17.99
If you’re a fan of laid-back, traditional Scandinavian style at Christmas, you’ll love the simple but effective design on the earthenware from Emma Bridgewater’s Christmas Joy range.
This quirky star plate from the range is a particular favourite of ours – you can style it on a dresser for a quirky festive display, but we think it’s the ideal size for Christmas cookies!
Emma Bridgewater tea towels are known for their intricate illustrations and attention to detail, and, featuring a pearly ice rink scene with sparkling trees and iconic London landmarks, this new London at Christmas edition is no exception to the rule.
Although this is a fully functioning tea towel, we think it’s magical enough to frame or use as a festive wall hanging – it’ll provide endless hours of joy as you continue to discover lively little details!
