Our review
A powerful and lightweight machine, this vacuum performs well under pressure - but for only 0.1L more bin capacity than the Blade 4 model, we're not sure if its worth the extra dosh.

Pros:

Lightweight Full of features Great suction power

Cons:

Expensive

RRP £449.99 | Weight 3.85kg | Capacity 0.7L | Floor types Carpet and hard floor | Guarantee 3 years

Testing the Vax ONEPWR Blade 5 Pet & Car

Ease of use:

The Vax blade 5 promises to be able to cope with everything a busy household can throw at it. Easy to fit together, it's super slim so will fit anywhere, whether mounted on a wall or packed away in a cupboard.

Weighing just 3.85kg it requires almost no effort to push around and is a good choice if lugging a heavy vacuum around is out of the question.

Features:

It comes with two brush bars that tackle both carpets and hard floors, and can be converted into a small hand-held vacuum, perfect for cars, furniture and soft furnishings. There is also a 2-in-1 Crevice Tool & Dusting Brush, perfect for getting into all corners.

Part of the ONEPWR range, the battery lasts for up to 45 minutes, and charges in around three hours. I loved the LED display which is unique to this Vax model, and helpfully lets you know how much battery time you have left and which mode you're in.

Cleaning results:

After four months continual use, vacuuming hard flooring as well as carpet, its battery is still as good as ever, and you can comfortably expect up to 90 minutes runtime. However, the runtime is reduced when it's in turbo mode.

In order to test its pet credentials I lent it to a friend with dogs and cats for a week to see how it performed. Cope it did, with her describing it one of the best vacuums she had used. In fact I had a job to get it back…

Value for money:

The second most expensive Vax vacuum we tested, we did like that it's lightweight, efficient and with its ability to convert into a hand-held vacuum is two vacuums in one. Coming with a three year guarantee, if you want to invest into a good cordless vacuum this is worth considering.
