Hello Lisa! Tell our readers a little about yourself…

I’ve always been obsessed with interiors! Last year I started posting styling shots of my house on Instagram - I quickly picked up followers and started writing a weekly blog based on styling your home on a budget. I now have almost 25,000 followers and run regular Styling Your Home Workshops with Dee Campling, my workshop partner, while I also provide an interior room design service, all via my website.

How would you describe your signature style?

I’m passionate about vintage and upcycling, while I adore using colour. I would probably describe my style as modern eclectic, while I love the boho, relaxed, textured style of decorating that’s popular in the USA.

If you had just £100 to give a room a new look, what would you do?

I would always start with new paint or wallpaper to update a room. I’d scour eBay or Gumtree for furniture pieces that can be easily upcycled at a good price, and invest in textured items such as cushions and throws. I’d also add plants – a bit of greenery will always lift a room.

What’s worth investing in, and what’s better bought bargain-style?

In my own home, I have always invested in wallpaper. Good quality wallpaper is timeless – for instance I still love a wallpaper that I put up ten years ago in our previous home and would use it again. When it comes to furniture, it’s a very rare occasion that I would ever buy new. Not only is recycled furniture much cheaper than buying a brand new piece, but it’s also generally well made – the quality of mid century pieces is fabulous. They’ve already lasted 60 years and there’s a good reason for that!

Where are your favourite places to shop for homewares?

If I’m not scouring charity shops, I will often be found in HomeSense. I buy lots of my home accessories via Instagram interiors stores such as Hilary & Flo, Violet & Thistle, Nickie Kelly Interiors and Curious Egg. Not only are you supporting small business, which is another of my passions, but you have a choice of perfectly curated products which you can’t find on the High Street.

Any trends you’re eager to jump on? Or avoid?

I’m absolutely over the moon that the Pantone Colour Of The Year is Greenery. I love anything botanical and am currently lusting over the banana leaf wallpaper by The Loft And Us. Although I don’t stick to trends when I decorate my space, I am veering away from the industrial look and more towards texture and soft coloured accessories.

Where do you go, and where should our readers turn for interiors inspiration?

Pinterest and Instagram are the place to go for an immediate inspo fix. Our Instagram hashtag, #myhomevibe, has over 22k posts on the feed and is a huge source of inspiration no matter what your style is. The only problem is it will make you immediately want to redecorate! I also read interiors magazines whenever I have the chance.
