Spiced honey mustard sausage rolls

Spiced honey mustard gives these sausage rolls an extra sweet and spicy kick with this recipe from Tracklements. Once cool, you can store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.

Ingredients

  • 375g (13oz) pack Puff pastry
  • Plain flour for dusting
  • 3 dessert spoons Tracklements Spiced Honey Mustard
  • 450g (16oz) Pork Sausage Meat
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley chopped
  • 1 Small onion finely chopped
  • 1 egg beaten
  • to season

Method

  • Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan/400°F/gas mark 6. Lightly grease two large baking trays.

  • Step 2

    Dust your worktop and a rolling pin with a little flour, then roll the pastry (even if you have a ready-rolled sheet of pastry you will need to roll it thinner) until it is approximately 30cm (12in) square and then cut in half lengthways. Spread 1½ dessert spoons of the spiced honey mustard onto each piece of pastry.

  • Step 3

    In a bowl, mix together the sausage meat, parsley, onion and season. Divide the mixture into two and shape each into a long sausage shape on top of the pastry.

  • Step 4

    Brush one edge with beaten egg and then roll up with the seam underneath and seal. Cut each roll into 2.5cm (1in) lengths, make a small slit in the top of each roll, brush with beaten egg and pop onto the baking trays. Bake for 20-25 minutes and transfer to a wire rack to cool.
