Honeyed spiced cider

This sweet and spiced cider is perfect for a cosy night in - simply mix it together and settle down by the fire

Warm spiced christmas cider


  • Dry cider 1 litre
  • Honey 75g, we used Rowse Pure and Natural Honey
  • Cinnamon sticks 2
  • Star anise 2 or 3, to taste
  • Apple 1


  • Step 1

    Pour the cider into a saucepan, add the honey, cinnamon sticks and star anise. Core the apple then cut into 6 thick wedges. Add to the cider and heat very gently for 10 minutes.

  • Step 2

    Take the cider off the heat and allow to stand for 20-30 minutes so that the flavours can develop.

  • Step 3

    Gently reheat when ready to serve and ladle into glasses.
