Chocolate peanut butter banana bread

  • Ripened bananas 300g, mashed
  • Melted butter 125ml
  • Large eggs 2, lightly beaten
  • Vanilla extract 1 ½ tsp
  • SKIPPY® Smooth Peanut Butter 85g, warmed
  • Plain flour 128g
  • Dark chocolate chips 90g
  • Cocoa powder 50g
  • Sugar 156g
  • Baking soda 1 tsp
  • Baking powder ¾ tsp
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Warm peanut butter to decorate


  • Step 1

    Heat oven to 180oC (Gas Mark 4)

  • Step 2

    In large bowl, stir together the banana, butter, eggs, vanilla extract and peanut butter.

  • Step 3

    In separate bowl combine the flour and remaining ingredients. Stir the flour mixture into the banana mixture until blended.

  • Step 4

    Transfer to a lightly greased 21 x 11 x 6 cm inch loaf pan.

  • Step 5

    Bake 45 to 55 minutes, or until a cocktail stick or skewer inserted in centre comes out clean.

  • Step 6

    Cool completely on wire rack 20 minutes.

  • Step 7

    Drizzle with warm peanut butter, if desired.
