Ingredients

  • oil (for frying)
  • 1 pack HECK! 97% pork sausages
  • 1 small red onion (sliced)
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 6 hot dog rolls
  • handful parsley (roughly chopped, optional)
  • French mustard and/or tomato ketchup (to serve)

Method

  • Step 1

Heat some oil in a large frying pan until hot. Cook the sausages for about 15 minutes, until golden brown, turning occasionally. Remove from the pan and keep warm.

  • Step 2

Add the sliced red onion to the same pan, along with a little more oil, if needed, and the balsamic vinegar. Fry for 10 minutes until softened and browned.

  • Step 3

Slice up the hot dog rolls. Add the sausages and top with the balsamic onions and some chopped fresh herbs, if liked. Serve with French mustard and/or tomato ketchup.

Cook's tip: Sprinkle with extra crispy fried onions for added flavour and crunch. These hot dogs are also delicious served with mustard and mayonnaise.
