Pavia Sideboard, £299, Made.com
We love all things Japandi style at the moment, and if you too are looking to create a minimalist, soothing interior after the chaos of 2020, Made.com’s Pavia Sideboard couldn’t be more perfect for the job.
Combining vintage-style cane doors with a black wood-effect surround, this piece perfectly fuses Japanese and Scandinavian design to create a simplistic but highly practical piece of furniture. The thing we love most about this sideboard is the fact that it’s beautiful but so versatile – you can use it in a dining room to store plates, in a living room to house books or in a bedroom to tidy away excess linens. Team it with earth-coloured walls and travertine accessories for a clean but cosy look.
Three Fluffy Pampas Plumes, £45, Cox & Cox
Here at YourHomeStyle we believe that a home should be a tranquil place to retreat to at the end of the day, and there’s no better way to make your home feel snug than to echo elements of the natural world in the textures and colours you surround yourself with.
These fluffy pampas plumes from Cox & Cox are great for adding understated texture into a room and giving it a laid-back, bohemian vibe. They’ll look particularly effective styled in a stoneware vase, or you can even attach them to your wall, as Lara Hall has done in her amazing real home makeover, to create a striking yet relaxed feature wall.
Straw-seat stool, £99.99, H&M Home
As we start to transition out of lockdown in the coming months, it’s likely that we’ll have to rethink how some of the rooms in our home work to make them more sociable.
Whether you entertain regularly or not, it’s always useful to have some additional seating options ready in your home, just in case you need them. We love these straw-seat stools from H&M home because they’re so versatile – they provide an extra seat whenever you need it, but they also double up as a great hallway bench or provide boho towel storage in your bathroom. To style, try adding a tasselled cushion or woollen blanket for extra comfort!
Brady Fabric 3 Seater Sofa, £1395, Furniture Village
We’re always on the lookout for products that’ll stand the test of time here at YourHomeStyle, so it’s fair to say we were intrigued when we heard about Furniture Village’s new LivingProof range. The collection boasts a mark-resistant fabric that can withstand stains from red wine, ketchup and coffee to muddy paws, crayons and highlighter pens, so we couldn’t wait to put it to the test.
Our verdict? If you’re after a sofa that’ll look fresh for years, we can’t recommend this range enough. Using the special cleaning solution provided, we managed to remove all of the traditional household stains from the LivingProof fabric without so much as a trace being left behind. The Brady 3 Seater Sofa is our particular favourite from the range, but you can also find some beautiful armchairs and storage ottomans in the collection too.
White Linen Bedding, from £99, Scooms
Scooms is one of our go-to brands for all things bedding here at YourHomeStyle. The family-run company is passionate about sustainability and produces premium quality duvets, pillows and bedding, so we couldn’t believe our luck when we heard that they’ve added a new range of super-soft linen bedding in three simple shades – pure white, calm grey and soft pink.
The linen range certainly doesn’t disappoint. Not only does it give your room an incredibly beautiful relaxed look, but it’s also extremely soft, making for a comfortable night’s sleep. We love the fact that this eco-friendly spring/summer bedding is made in small batches in Portugal, but our favourite feature has to be the oversized mother-of-pearl buttons that sit neatly at the bottom of the set – they add a touch of luxury and make your space feel really special, as any bedroom should be.
Circus Outdoor Side Table, £160, La Redoute
Whether you have an expanse of decking, a small patio or a tiny balcony, your outdoor space shouldn’t be overlooked if you’re giving your home a summer makeover, and investing in some new garden furniture is a great place to start.
This outdoor side table from La Redoute is super compact so it’s especially great for small spaces, but will look amazing in any space. It makes a great coffee or side table, but you can even use it as an extra stool when you have visitors. Pair it with a striking monochrome outdoor rug for a cohesive, stylish look.
