My top tips…

1

Engage with your followers

Engage with your followers by replying to their comments or if you are short of time, like their comments to let them know you have read them.

2

Hashtags

Use relevant hashtags, and ensure that they relate directly to your image, so that your image will show up on the correct page. The Instagram algorithm decides who sees your photo, so make sure they are accurate.

3

Find a community

Find an interiors community hashtag and engage with those participating in that hashtag. I love the hashtags #howyouhome, #sodomino, and #abmathome. If you are a blogger or online business, then get an Instagram business account, as this will give you the stats to gauge what sort of images that you post do better, the best time of day and information about your followers.

4

Stories

Use Instagram stories. I love using it for posting images that I can't place in my Instagram feed. It's also chronological, which means your image will be seen in real time order and the audience is different.

5

Groups

Engage with others. Form your own community by engaging with like-minded accounts. You could save images under the Instagram collections feature, to form a group you want to visit. Alternatively, you can turn on the notification feature or have a small direct messaging group for your Insta buddies to notify you when they have posted.
