Send the cosiest greetings this Christmas with these Scandi-style mitten cards. Decorate with your favourite papers and embellishments from your craft stash.
You will need:
- Mitten template – download and print here
- Festive papers
- Felt embellishments
- Stitched circle die (optional)
- Border embossing folder (optional)
- Sentiment stamps or stickers (optional)
- Coloured card
- Adhesive gems and pearls
- Craft knife or scissors
- Pencil and ruler
- Glue pen
- Foam pads
Step 1
Draw around the mitten template onto a 13 x 15cm base, positioning the template slightly over the top edge.
Step 2
Carefully cut out the mitten to create the shaped base card. Cover the front panel of the mitten with red stitched-effect star paper and cut off the excess.
Step 3
Create the mitten’s cuff by cutting it from green gingham paper and then attaching it to the mitten. Stick a length of ribbon across the paper joins.
Step 4
Cut red and green stars from patterned paper and glue them together. Attach a large pearl to the centre and add it to the mitten with foam pads.
Step 5
Add a felt holly embellishment to the ribbon band. Stamp, or handwrite, a Christmas sentiment onto white card, then trim and mount it onto red card. Attach the sentiment so it runs across the mitten’s cuff to finish.
