Turn wooden tiles into a statement piece, just like Diane has, by upcycling them with metallic spray paint and creating a bold pattern.

You will need:

  • Hexagon MDF tile blanks
  • Gold, silver and copper spray paint
  • 3M Command poster strips
  • Spirit level

Step 1

In a well-ventilated room, cover your work surface and surrounding area with newspaper and some dust sheets.

Step 2

Split the hexagon MDF tile blanks into three groups. Take the first group and place the tiles onto your work surface. Spray one side with gold paint and leave it to touch-dry before applying a second coat.

Step 3

Paint the next group silver and the third copper. Allow the tiles to dry thoroughly.

Step 4

Arrange the tiles in a pattern on your work surface. When you’re happy with the design, stick them to the wall edge-to-edge in a bold pattern, using 3M Command poster strips.
