You will need:

  • Template - download and print here
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Coloured card
  • Glue
  • Star punch
  • Sticky tape

Step 1

Print out the template (above) onto card and cut it out. Trace the template on to five sheets of coloured card and cut them out.

Step 2

Score and fold along the dotted lines and then assemble each point of the star, applying glue to the tabs and sticking them in place.

Step 3

When dry, flatten each point and use the star punch to cut out shapes along two sides.

Step 4

Turn the points back into 3D shapes again. Take one point and make a small cut at the pointy end. Cut a length of string and thread it through the hole. Add a little tape to hold it securely inside the point.

Step 5

Next, fold the end tabs on each point inwards. Start sticking the points together until a star shape is created – this can be quite fiddly so it’s best to let each section dry before adding the next point.
