When it’s done well, typographic art looks absolutely stunning – so check out our simple guide!

Step 1

To begin, choose your design. This can be anything from a piece of typography in a magazine to a picture you’ve always been fond of; we’ve opted for a slogan we created on the computer and printed off on A4.

Tip: Make sure you reverse your chosen design. This means when you start tracing, the side you have drawn on will end up being on the back of the glass.

Step 2

Creating a custom quote frame

Take your chosen frame apart to get to the glass. We’ve gone for an A4 frame to fit our design.

Step 3

Take a duster and a clean dry cloth to give the glass a wipe down and remove any dust.

Step 4

Place the glass over the top of your design and position centrally.

Step 5

Creating a custom quote frame

Now take your Rust-Oleum Leafing Pen in Gold and begin to trace the design onto the glass, working from top to bottom. Once the first trace is dry, go over again to build up the colour.

Once fully dry place the glass back into the frame and secure.

Your custom frame is now ready to be proudly displayed on the wall or even in an arrangement on a table. All you have to do is wait for the first: “Where’d you get that then?”. Well…
