There’s nothing more heart-warming than receiving a handmade card, and these festive parcel ones are deceptively easy to make

These super-effective cards are created using a simple template and take just minutes to make.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Parcel template – download and print here
- A4 sheet of card
- Festive papers
- Sentiment stamps or stickers (optional)
- Snowflake dies (optional)
- Oval nesting dies (optional)
- Ribbon and twine
- Buttons Adhesive gems
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Craft knife or scissors
Step 1
Trace around the template onto white cardstock. Trim tree-patterned paper to 10 x 11cm. Edge with gold ink, then attach it to the front. Cut a 3 x 11cm strip of gold star-patterned paper and attach it down the front of the tree-patterned paper.
Step 2
Place one oval nesting die inside a larger one and cut three gold star-patterned frames. If you don’t have a die cutter, you can simply cut out your oval shapes with scissors. Edge them with gold ink. Arrange them in a bow at the top of the card, as shown.
Step 3
Cover the lid with a strip of spotty paper, inking the edges. Use foam pads to attach it to the top edge, as shown, then add a gold star paper strip down the centre.
Step 4
Stamp a sentiment onto white card. Use a sticker or handwrite a sentiment if you don’t have a stamp. Edge it with gold ink and thread with gold twine. Finish with a button threaded with gold twine and tied into a bow.
