Read on for our ultimate Zoflora guide.

What is Zoflora?

Zoflora is a disinfectant, which means that when you use it to clean your home, it’ll kill 99.9% of the bacteria and viruses that could cause you illness or create a bad odour.

What gives the product its cult status, however, is the fact that it comes in almost 40 different scents variations - from Lemon Zing to Midnight Blooms - that each fill your home with fragrance for 24 hours!

How to use Zoflora

Zoflora is a multi-use product, so you can use it for many different cleaning tasks, without having to buy lots of expensive sprays or pastes.

Here are some of our favourite ways to use the it around the house:

1. To clean surfaces

You can use diluted Zoflora on nearly all hard surfaces, including kitchen surfaces, fridge shelves and tables, to give them an instant refresh.

All you need to do is mix 10ml of disinfectant with 400ml of water, and use with a cloth to wipe over your surface. Don’t forget - when you’re finished, you can soak your dishcloth in diluted Zoflora to stop bacteria growing on it.

2. To clean floors

Again, a little bit goes a long way - just add one part disinfectant to 40 parts water in a mop bucket, and use it to clean over hard flooring like tiles and lino. Just be careful not to use it on polished wood, as it might damage the surface.

3. To target germ-heavy zones

You can use a capful of undiluted Zoflora to target areas that harbour high amounts of bacteria: think drains, toilet bowls and toilet brush holders. It can also be used neat to scrub metal and ceramic sinks - just remember to wear gloves when you use it.

If you’re looking for a quick and convenient cleaning solution, you can make Zoflora into a handy disinfectant spray.

To make, simply add 2 capfuls of your favourite Zoflora fragrance into a 800ml trigger spray bottle containing water. You can then spray the solution directly onto regularly touched fixtures like door handles and taps – we also use it on kitchen surfaces, desks, mobile phones and light switches – and wipe it over with a cloth to disinfect.

Zoflora FAQs

Does Zoflora kill Covid-19?

After extensive laboratory testing, Zoflora recently confirmed that it is proven to kill coronaviruses, including the COVID-19 strain, when used at 1:40 dilution with a 5 minute contact time.

This means that the product will kill Covid, if mixed at 1 part disinfectant to 40 parts water, and left in contact with the surface you wish to clean for at least 5 minutes. The testing conforms to the latest British standard - you can find out more here.

Is Zoflora safe for pets?

According to the Veterinary Poisons Information Service, Zoflora disinfectant is safe to be used on hard surfaces where pets are kept, as long as it’s correctly diluted. You just have to make sure that your pets don’t walk over or lick the wet treated surfaces.

In fact, you can even use the product to clean pet beds (simply add two capfuls into the washing machine) or to wipe down cages.

Although regular Zoflora is safe for use with pets when the directions for use are correctly followed, the Fresh Home Odour Remover and Disinfectant is specially formulated for homes with pets.

This one has been specifically tested against pet-related bacteria, and kills 99.9% of the bacteria and viruses that can cause illness in animals. It’ll also help to eliminate pet related odours, such as wet dog smell and urine
